About us
We are Wetterbaby
Wetterbaby isn't a big company. It's two friends and a question that almost every parent knows:
"Does the baby need a jacket right now or not?"
When Sepehr became a father, everyday life suddenly revolved around questions that surprisingly rarely have simple answers. Especially when it came to baby clothing: sun one moment, wind the next, then rain, and every weather app seemed to say something different. He and his wife found themselves in the same situation almost every day: check the weather, dress the baby, check the weather again, change the outfit, and still head out unsure.
At some point the thought came up: why isn't there an app that simply tells parents what their baby should wear?
When Sepehr told his best friend Lars about it, Lars was on board right away. He has spent many years building digital products that don't just work but also feel intuitive and pleasant to use. Together, the two started building the solution they would have wished for as parents.
That idea became Wetterbaby.
On the side, Sepehr is still completing his training as a psychotherapist (which might explain why this project has absorbed a lot of heart, many evenings, and rather little sleep).
What Wetterbaby does
Wetterbaby combines current weather data with concrete clothing recommendations for babies up to about 2 years. Instead of interpreting temperatures yourself, you get a recommendation right away, tailored to:
- Temperature and feels-like temperature
- Wind and rain
- UV index
- Your child's age
- Carrier or stroller
- Individual temperature sensitivity
- Open the app
- look
- dress
- go outside
No guesswork, no contradictory advice, no long internet searches. Wetterbaby also gives you helpful information on sun protection, weather, clothing, and everyday life with a baby.
Why we do this
Because we know the problem ourselves. Because parents already have enough decisions to make. And because we believe a good app doesn't have to be complicated to be truly helpful.
If Wetterbaby means parents spend a little less time deliberating in the morning and head outside with their baby a little more relaxed, we've reached our goal.
We're a small team, we keep developing Wetterbaby with a lot of care, and we're grateful for every family that joins us along the way. Many of the app's features only exist because of feedback from the community, and that's exactly how Wetterbaby should keep growing. Feedback, ideas, and suggestions are always welcome.
