Wetterbaby 2.0 Is Here: Everything New, and Finally Even Closer to Real Life

Wetterbaby 2.0 is here, and with the update the app moves even closer to the real everyday lives of parents. Here are the most important changes.

A New Clothing Algorithm

The biggest rebuild sits where you can't see it: in the clothing algorithm. The previous version worked from the measured temperature. The new one calculates the feels-like temperature. Wind now factors in, the difference between stroller and carrier as well, and the tricky transition temperatures around 12 to 15 °C (54 to 59 °F), the range where it's hardest to judge what fits, are resolved much more finely. As a result, the suggestions feel the way the weather outside actually feels.

A New Mode: Stroller

The stroller mode was the most common feature request, and a fair one. A baby in the stroller moves less, is more exposed to the wind, and under the canopy it's often cooler than you'd assume from pushing it. There are now dedicated recommendations for exactly that, including a blanket, a footmuff (a cozy stroller bag, sometimes called a bunting bag in the US), and the right layers.

A New Design

The design was reworked with a clear goal: the answer to “What should I dress my child in today?” should be visible at once. Less distraction, simpler navigation, plus the new Liquid Glass design of iOS 26 and a fresh app icon.

More Individual Settings

No baby is “the average.” You can now enter your child's age and birthday and set whether they tend to need things warmer or cooler than the default. Some children get cold faster, others less so, and the recommendations account for that noticeably now. Behind the scenes, the clothing categories were tidied up too: clearer combinations, fewer odd transitions between outfits.

The difference shows up most on a windy day at 13 °C (55 °F), exactly the kind of situation Wetterbaby 2.0 was built for.
